Born and rasied in Belegrade, Serbia, Boogie began documenting rebellion and unrest during the civil war that ravaged his country during the 1990s. He moved to New York in 1998 and is currently based in Brooklyn.

Boogie has the ability to photograph his subjects without distracting them with the camera. Capturing the truth of what is actually happening and not setting up the subjects to create the image or moment.  Although, who knows. Maybe he asked the Jewish man to walk in-front of those words, right?  I highly doubt it.

In the series Borderlands and Ghosts, Josh Poehlein has drawn over the photo with a white line drawing.

“By drawing in white, information is removed from the images, reminding the viewer that a landscape is incomplete without a history or potential future. The pieces in Borderlands are a meditation on the possible, what could have been or what could be.” - JP
